[The sight of a Houndoom breathing flames onto a pile of sticks (in a firepit, of course) in front of the camera is the first thing the video shows, before it turns to a bundled up Ilya with a mug of hot chocolate.]

Hold it steady, Orpheus. Now then, hello everyone! With the season upon us and some of us deciding it's time to bring out some traditions, I thought I'd continue something I started last year and try to bring a favorite tradition of mine into this world.

Caroling.

Now it's a little different than usual, for those of you who know what that is. I'm not going door-to-door or anything, instead I'm just going to sing over the network. If you don't like this idea I encourage you to mute the gear right now.

[She gives a brief unimpressed flatface before smiling warmly again.]

On the other hand, if you have any requests, please feel free to give them! But please, try to keep them to good songs. I'm not going to sing "Jingle Bells".

[She takes a deep breath before launching into song.]

[ For a while, he seems silent, listening quietly as she sings before speaking up. ]

This is kind of nostalgic, huh?

[ Looks like you've got a fan. But there's a pause as he turns red at the realization of what he said. ]

I mean... the first time we talked, you were singing over the network too.

You're not the only person I met that way, either.

[It's one of the reasons she's doing this again, actually. After charming her way into the Circus last year she wants to see just what else her voice can win her.]

Actually, it seems like every time I run into you I'm singing.

[ Don't mind his ears turning even redder from that. ]

It's an easy way to pick you out over the Pokegear, to be quite honest. And... I'm not sure if I told you last Christmas that hearing carols. Kind of reminds me of home.

[It's cute how easily embarrassed he is. She'll have to remember that for future trolling.]

I imagine that's true for a lot of people, given how many of us come from some version of Earth.

[ For all his intelligence, the poor boy still doesn't know how to girls. ]

I'd guess so... but it's sometimes a little hard to believe that we come from different worlds sometimes and how similar they are in some respects.

[Save the cute awkwardness for girls who look a good age to ask out, Yukio.]

Well, it's the sort of thing that I'm a bit more ready to accept, because alternate realities are something that are something we know about back in my world.

[ I'm afraid all the cute awkwardness is for all the girls. ]

You're probably the second person who's mentioned that so far. There's really no ruling it out, especially when the evidence is right there in front of your eyes.

I was under the impression that by this point it was more or less obvious. But I guess if you've never heard of it before it's hard to wrap your head around the idea.

[Even if she might roll her eyes at someone having difficulty with what, to her, is such a simple concept. Nasuverse magic! Making Alternate Realities a part of the basic curriculum.]

It's a little less common knowledge where I come from... that and you have to have a certain ability to be able to cross worlds.

[ There's a pause as he moved to rub at the back of his neck. ]

Still something I have to get used to, I'm afraid.

Well it's not like a lot of people can actually do it in my world either. Those who can were just polite enough to tell the rest of the magic community about it.

[Not that they told everything, not by a long shot, but the fact that alternate realities totally exist was made public knowledge for Magi at least quite some time ago. The rest, while important to a lot of people back home, is irrelevant here and she has no intention of discussing it. Besides, it's not really her family's thing. Better to ask a Tohsaka.]

I'd guess that would make sense... where I'm from, I only know one person with a monopoly on the power and he's not exactly telling just how much he can do.

[ There's a sigh there. Said person... if he could be called a person, after all, was more of a handful if anything. ]

I... hope you don't mind my asking but... can you do it?

Well I can understand being secretive, but that just sounds completely uncooperative.

[Not that other Magi didn't have that problem too.]

As for me, no. That's not my family's area of expertise. We're alchemists.

He has his reason... or at least that's what he tells us.

[ At least his dad could talk sense into Mephisto sometimes. ]

Alchemists... that's something else that's considered a dying art in my world.

Well a lot of the study of magic in my world is reaching back to the old days and regaining the power magi had then, so that makes sense if you think about it. We've probably gone a lot farther with it than anything you'd recognize as Alchemy, too.

Back home, only those in the know acknowledge what most would call magic as something that exists.

[There's a small nostalgic smile from that though. ]

I hope I haven't bothered you with all these questions, by the way.

Oh, not especially. I had some spare time. But I should probably get back to caroling. Assuming this qualifies, anyway.
