[There is a young girl in Team attire wandering the halls.

Ilya was getting bored sitting and waiting for someone to come get her, and she doesn't yet understand how to use the gear, so instead she's decided to poke her head out and find out about this place firsthand. She doesn't seem to have any real idea where she's going, or what most of the things she's surrounded by are, so she could probably be found anywhere, and she's distracted enough that other team members will probably notice her before she notices them.

That, however, is not true of the Duskull that just popped out in front of her, right in the face of anyone looking at her. Red eyes staring at them, it lets out a spooky wail.

She turns to follow the sound and beams, uncaring of how discomfited the other member may or may not be.]

Good work, Orpheus, you found someone!

[Late in the afternoon in Goldenrod city, there is the sound of something pounding on the pavement.

Is it a swarm of pokemon in the city? A new rocket plot? Another angry legendary?

Nope, it's just a young girl-]

Faster, Berserker, Faster!

[Riding through town on the back of her Rhyhorn.

People dive out of the way of the galloping rock-type, but Ilya doesn't seem to care in the slightest. She throws back her head and laughs gleefully, not even paying attention to anything but the rush of her ride.

... Someone might want to try and stop her before she smashes something.]

That's a why, not a how! There's no magic or grail here, so you shouldn't be able to be here either!

[She slowly climbs off of the back of her Rhyhorn, and starts to walk over the rest of the way.]

... But you still are.

[Ahri feels your pain, Ilya. She misses setting things on fire.]

Oh? They might pick on you for being so small.

Then they're stupid. That's not my problem.

[She seems fairly cheery about that, as if it's funny that they'd underestimate her like that.]

What do they want us to do, anyway? Just capture more "Pokemon"?

They do seem to underestimate some of us.

Well, that seems to be what they want the most. There are other jobs you can sign up for though. Easier jobs.

[Aaaand Ahri has like, the easiest one there is. Because really, work? Pfffff.]

[Kimblee has only just returned to Goldenrod City, after spending an extended period up north; he hasn't even gotten to the base yet before there's a commotion.

Some things never change, it seems; honestly, it seems that not a week goes by in this city without something terrorizing it.

However, this actually seems to be a rather...localized bit of chaos, most likely caused by something large and utterly out of someone's control; it's something Kimblee normally wouldn't get involved in, as these sorts of things really aren't any of his business and he tends to find them a good lesson for whomever the errant trainer is besides, but once he actually gets a good look at the creature streaking through the streets...

Well. That girl's presence does change things a bit, doesn't it.

Of course, being close enough to see such things does imply a certain risk of getting hit, and he's quick to throw out Carlisle; if that isn't enough to stop the girl (as some people are quite lacking in both sanity or common sense around here...look, he wouldn't be surprised), at the very least the Mamoswine knows well enough to use Protect as a barrier.

He's definitely more amused than annoyed at this, however; he can't say he disapproves entirely.]

What sort of other jobs? What do they want besides Pokemon?

[Silly Ilya. Obviously the answer is "money". And power, but that's kind of interlinked.]

[Ilya doesn't even notice Kimblee is there, which may not be surprising given how much fun she's having rampaging through the streets. There's absolutely nothing that's going to distract her from her joyride-

Until that Mamoswine pops up in front of her. Her jaw kind of falls open as soon as she sees it and she holds out a hand.]

Berserker, stop! [With a growl, the Rhyhorn obeys, pounding a few last steps before coming to a stop right in front of the Mamoswine. Ilya stares at the enormous beast for a few moments.]

... What kind of Pokemon is that?

[Berserker...admittedly, while Kimblee doesn't understand the reference, he can't help but feel the name is apt in some way, goodness lord.]

It's the one I've been training longest, over the course of my time here. Mamoswine; Ice and Ground. Rather powerful creatures, actually.

[He tips his head toward that Rhydon there.]

You certainly seem to be enjoying yours.

[Ilya's attention falls to the trainer behind the enormous mammoth. Well, there's a well-dressed gentleman. Looks like she'll have to put on her noble lady face.]

He does look very impressive. [Sliding off of her Rhyhorn, she approaches without even the slightest hint of fear.]

I just got Berserker and Orpheus, so they aren't as strong yet. But I know they will be. Even at his low level, Berserker is amazing.

[Taking either side of her long skirt and curtsying towards him, she smiles sweetly.] My name is Ilyasviel von Einzbern. It's nice to meet you, sir.

[...although Berserker there is making him quite curious; he's rather aware that such things can't be caught anywhere near this area, and while it's possible she purchased him from the center, he does have to wonder...]

[Rising out of her curtsy, she folds her hands in front of her. Busting out those noble mannerisms like no one's business now.

Kind of an amusing contrast to running through the city on a Rhyhorn.]

Feel free to call me Ilya, Mister Kimblee. Everyone does.

[She nods to his question.] That's right. I only showed up in this city a short while ago. But I've met quite a few people who were kind enough to tell me what's expected of us while we're here.

Waitstaff for the game corner, lab techs, handing out flyers, and other menial chores.

I would like to get out and see the rest of this world eventually, but I'll need to save up some cash first.

[She groans just at the sound of that.] Those sound boring. Capturing new Pokemon has to be much more fun than that.

[Seeing the world, huh? That does sound kind of fun...] I'd like to do that too. But I have to wait at least a week first, right?

Is that so...? I assume you aren't referring to the badge challenge, if you showed up here, of all places.

Badges? No, no one's told me about those. Just that we have to capture as many Pokemon as possible.

[Nuts, she's not as well-informed as she thought she was.]

But what does showing up here have to do with it?

Two weeks, actually. It seems like forever, though.

Catching them random pokémon is probably easier and more fun.

Well, I guess that's at least some time to train Berserker and Orpheus. [Not that she has to like the forced waiting.]

So what are you doing?

That's what I've been doing. Training my team to become stronger.

I'm heading out into the city. See what I can do training-wise, window shop, and maybe see if I can get some gullible fool to buy me a few drinks.

I meant for the team, but that sounds fun. I think I'm going to take Berserker out for a ride later.

Right now I'm assigned to passing out flyers for the game corner. It's pretty easy. I just slip them into people's bags when they're not looking.

Sounds like fun.~

Game corner? What sort of games? [Probably not as fun as actually going out there and beating up wild animals.]

It's all games of chance and luck. People spend more money that way.

Oh. Gambling.

[She honestly doesn't really see the appeal to that sort of thing. But then, luck's never really been with her...]

I don't think they'd let me inside, much less work there.

Yeah. Whatever floats their boat, I guess.

[She doesn't particularly care for it either.]

Yes! I won it fair and square and had it right before I wound up here. Either I dropped it or somebody here took it.
