1st Grail: [Action for Goldenrod]

[There is a young girl in Team attire wandering the halls.

Ilya was getting bored sitting and waiting for someone to come get her, and she doesn't yet understand how to use the gear, so instead she's decided to poke her head out and find out about this place firsthand. She doesn't seem to have any real idea where she's going, or what most of the things she's surrounded by are, so she could probably be found anywhere, and she's distracted enough that other team members will probably notice her before she notices them.

That, however, is not true of the Duskull that just popped out in front of her, right in the face of anyone looking at her. Red eyes staring at them, it lets out a spooky wail.

She turns to follow the sound and beams, uncaring of how discomfited the other member may or may not be.]

Good work, Orpheus, you found someone!

[Late in the afternoon in Goldenrod city, there is the sound of something pounding on the pavement.

Is it a swarm of pokemon in the city? A new rocket plot? Another angry legendary?

Nope, it's just a young girl-]

Faster, Berserker, Faster!

[Riding through town on the back of her Rhyhorn.

People dive out of the way of the galloping rock-type, but Ilya doesn't seem to care in the slightest. She throws back her head and laughs gleefully, not even paying attention to anything but the rush of her ride.

... Someone might want to try and stop her before she smashes something.]

Maybe it was whoever brought us here. Though I don't know what they'd do with it... it's just a medal, right? It's not like it has magical powers or anything.

[Ironically, she says this because in her world, it very well could.]

[Whether she is or not depends on the country, back where she comes from, but that doesn't change the fact that she certainly doesn't look it.]

Then again, I guess a group like this isn't too concerned with following a law like that.

[ She assumes the same rules that applied to Irisviel apply to the younger "child". ] Your body.

[That hits here like a hammer-blow. She's never been what could be considered "human" since her mother and father left, not even after she came to live with Shirou and the War ended. She thought she never would be again.

But if a Servant can become human...]

I... I didn't realize... no, that's not right. It's more that I couldn't believe it. But Saber... that's a kind of magic beyond even the five sorceries. Who or what could possibly have done this?

[ Saber herself is used to being human; prior to her arrival, she was human-like even as a "heroic spirit" so the concept of having to eat and sleep wasn't lost on her. ]

I do not know that answer. If I did, I would provide it readily to you and all of those this place has taken captive against their will.

[Well, that's disappointing, but not really surprising.]

I suppose it was a bit much to expect you to know. Whatever did it would have to show itself first, it wouldn't be the sort of thing we could find on our own.

[Not that she's complaining.] So, does that mean this place can bring anyone to it?

[Ahri shrugs. She doesn't know what ages are allowed and what aren't. Nor does she particularly care.]

I don't think they're too concerned with following any laws.

[She asks in the most innocent, curious voice possible.]

Well, Berserker shouldn't be able to post anything... Probably not Orpheus either. So I should be okay for now.

[ Down the line of Illya's path is one Saber garbed in royal red and gold threads who doesn't seem all that alarmed of the noise that is coming closer to her. She lets out an almost bored sigh before a vaguely amused smirk appears on her lips. The Metagross and Scizor that are accompanying her for her stroll perk their heads up at that. ]

Machina. Gladius. I believe you know what to do.

[ Machina the Metagross lets out a noise and places itself firmly in front of Saber. When the Rhyhorn closes in, Machina places a Protect on itself, mashing its steel face with the Rhyhorn's rock hard horn and effectively stopping the beast in its path by digging its claws into the ground. The Scizor leaps forward in a fighting stance, but doesn't actually let loose anything just yet. Saber moves around to address the rider. ]

I, myself, adore the thrills and excitement one gains by joyriding, but it is children who run on reckless abandon that I must reprimand. Do you not see well beyond the crown of your Rhyhorn, child?

[The Rhyhorn roars out more in frustration and annoyance than anything when it crashes into Machina's Protect, but despite giving it a glare that should be all rights slay the Metagross where it stands, it doesn't attack. Ilya glares down at Machina as well, turns her furious gaze to Saber...

And her jaw drops. She doesn't even respond to Saber's question, because the first thing that comes out of her mouth is-]

Two Sabers?

[ Her Metagross just gives a steely glare back. Good thing the Rhyhorn didn't provoke the computer spidertank, at least.

Saber arches a brow at that before crossing her arms. ]

So you have met the other one. I presume you know of her through some previous Holy Grail War encounter?

I... I was the Master of Berserker in the Fifth War. Ilyasviel von Einzbern.

[She is so weirded out right now. This woman obviously has very little in common with the Saber she knows, and she's never heard of a Saber like her being summoned, but then she doesn't know everything about the previous Wars...

Berserker the Rhyhorn continues the stare off, not really following the conversation or caring. He's just waiting for his Mistress to recall him or tell him to attack.]

Which one were you part of?

[ Machina the Metagross senses the uneasiness, but doesn't let up. Both Machina and Gladius stare down at the Rhyhorn, fiercely protective as they are of their shorter trainer.

Her eyes narrow in thought at the information she's receiving. Illyasviel von Einzbern. The same last name as the woman Arturia previously mentioned before. Filing that thought away for another time, Saber puffs up her chest for a moment. ]

The Holy Grail War hosted by the SE.RA.PH. upon the Moon Cell's recreation of the real world Holy Grails. A digital copy, so to speak.

[ Also deja vu. A small, waifish looking girl who held command over a Berserker? Hmm. ]

They... copied the Holy Grail War with technology?

[She's repulsed by the idea almost as a matter of course. Technology and magic don't go together, everyone knows that. Trying to combine the two is just... anathema.]

And they succeeded?

[That's even more unreal. It's like its own form of sorcery. Then again, so is them being brought into this world and made truly human.]

You doubt my words? I do not blame you, but I believe it is a matter of... hrm, parallel universes. The real world in my time has long been devoid of magic, as it had all disappeared. What counts for magic is only found within technology, or those who already have some form of telekinetic prowess.

[ Then she lets out a soft chuckle as she recalls the differences she's heard about how real world Holy Grail Wars and the one hosted by SE.RA.PH. were different. ]

Though the one I participated was far more organized and expansive... yet no less dangerous.

Doubt? No, I believe you, it just seems... wrong.

[A world without magic... at least this one still has Pokemon, which are a lot like magic familiars in their own way. If even those weren't around...

She shudders a bit at the thought.]

Well, if it wasn't dangerous, it wouldn't be a Holy Grail War.

[ Her stare gets more analytical as she regards Illyasviel once more. ]

Tell me, child: do you have any personal association with a woman named Irisviewl von Einzbern?

[At that question, Ilya feels and looks like she got punched in the gut.]

That's... my mother's name...

[Her eyes widen, and her lips quiver.]

How do you know my mother?

[ Saber's own expression looks a little surprised at that. Then it goes back to that almost impassive, imperial look, but with a frown added to it. ]

Once, I spoke with her here. Though, I believe the other Saber was far more familiar with her than I.

She was here...?

[Ilya's voice quivers as much as her lips now.]

Is she still here?
