1st Grail: [Action for Goldenrod]

[There is a young girl in Team attire wandering the halls.

Ilya was getting bored sitting and waiting for someone to come get her, and she doesn't yet understand how to use the gear, so instead she's decided to poke her head out and find out about this place firsthand. She doesn't seem to have any real idea where she's going, or what most of the things she's surrounded by are, so she could probably be found anywhere, and she's distracted enough that other team members will probably notice her before she notices them.

That, however, is not true of the Duskull that just popped out in front of her, right in the face of anyone looking at her. Red eyes staring at them, it lets out a spooky wail.

She turns to follow the sound and beams, uncaring of how discomfited the other member may or may not be.]

Good work, Orpheus, you found someone!

[Late in the afternoon in Goldenrod city, there is the sound of something pounding on the pavement.

Is it a swarm of pokemon in the city? A new rocket plot? Another angry legendary?

Nope, it's just a young girl-]

Faster, Berserker, Faster!

[Riding through town on the back of her Rhyhorn.

People dive out of the way of the galloping rock-type, but Ilya doesn't seem to care in the slightest. She throws back her head and laughs gleefully, not even paying attention to anything but the rush of her ride.

... Someone might want to try and stop her before she smashes something.]

_{[Ralph had been stomping along the hallway with his hat crumpled up in his hand and muttering to himself when he came upon an unusual sight.

It looked like a kid.

Kids didn't belong in Bad Guy Camp... He wasn't allowed to puzzle over that for very long because SUDDEN SHRIEKING DISEMBODIED SKULL IN HIS FACE!]}

GYyyeeahh!

[Ilya giggles at his reaction.]

Orpheus is pretty startling, isn't he?

[She reaches out a hand and pats the ghost gently on the head, then turns back to Ralph. Man, this guy's about as big as her servant Berserker back home. She could probably fit on one of his shoulders.

Taking the sides of her uniform skirt in hand, she gives him a little curtsy.]

Hello, my name is Ilyasviel von Einzbern. But you can call me Ilya.

Yeah. Yeah, you could say that.

_{[He gives the Duskull a look before putting his cap on and tugging the brim down. She went through the trouble of curtsying. The least he could do was tip his hat.]}

Ralph. Listen, do you know the way outta here? I'm not supposed to be here.

Hmmmm, no. I just woke up in here too. I think we'll have to find someone who's been around longer.

[She rubs Orpheus's head as she thinks. The Duskull appearst to appreciate that.]

I thought maybe our Servants here could help us, but it doesn't look like they can talk.

[Ahri is also wandering around Rocket HQ. She'd already finished basic training, so she had plenty of free time for the most part. Passing out flyers for the Game Corner also didn't take long, especially when she could just slip them into people's bags when they weren't looking.

As she rounded the corner she spotted the younger girl. And when the Duskull pops out, really doesn't seem to flinch or anything. She'd seen worse after all. Although, her own Misdreavus is hovering over her shoulder.]

Well, aren't you adorable?

Are you talking about Orpheus, or me?

[Ilya giggles, not really caring about the answer, and curtsies to Ahri.]

Hello, my name is Ilyasviel von Einzbern. It's nice to meet you.

You, of course.

[Yeah, floating skull thing is kind of creepy. Doesn't hold a candle to Nocturne though. That thing gave her the chills.]

I'm Ahri. It's a pleasure. I take it you're new here?

That's right. I just woke up here a few minutes ago with these clothes and that note telling me I'm part of "Team Rocket" now, though I don't really know what that means.

And my new Servants, of course. Orpheus and Berserker, but I can't let Berserker out right now. He doesn't fit through doors.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Team Rocket's an organization that seeks power over both people...

[She gestures at the two ghosts.]

...and pokémon. If you've just woken up, you'll be starting training soon. I don't envy you. It sucked.

Oh, so they're like the Mage Society, only with... Pokemon, instead of magic.

[She draws out the new word a bit, as if adapting her tongue to saying it.]

What sort of training is it? [She's not too worried. It can't be much worse than what she was put through to be a Grail War Master.]

Servants. Right. _{[That bossy armadillo thing that popped out of the ball in his backpack wasn't about to take orders from anybody. He wasn't about to see what was in the other one any time soon.]

[Then something she said clicked.]}

Wait a minute, you're from a different game too?

[Well that was... startling. Good thing Ren isn't really afraid of ghosts, even if he looks quite confused at that. Especially seeing a small girl like that in the base.]

Ah... hello.

[...by an extremely rare stroke of luck, Kayneth managed not to get smashed, though it was extremely close even given that he heard the Pokemon coming and managed to step out of the way in time...

WELL HE'LL GIVE WHOEVER THAT WAS A PIECE OF HIS MIND!!!]

What are you-

[...something about that girl looks familiar... did she even hear him, though]

[Misaki happened to be walking through the city from the Department Store, seemingly pleased with the new materials she just bought. She was expecting to head over to one of the cafes nearby when she heard said pounding coming by. Obviously, she was startled by the sudden noise when she accidentally dropped her newly bought stuff.]

What the... [Out of instinct, she reached for her Feraligatr's ball, intending to use him to stop whatever was coming.]

[She looked in the direction of the noise and saw a girl and her Rhyhorn running nearby. Obviously this was a surprising sight for the girl. So surprising, she sent out her Feraligatr without hesitation. As soon as he was sent out, Wani just went ahead and chased after the running Rhyhorn.]

Crap. [Cue Misaki hurriedly picking up her dropped items and running after her pokemon.]

Game? [Well, that's a surprising question.] I'm not from a game, I'm from Japan... well, I was from Germany before that, but...

Well, what sort of game are you talking about?

Hello.

[The girl takes her team skirt in each hand and gives Ren a little curtsy.]

I am Ilyasviel von Einzbern. It's nice to meet you.

[Not a single word, Kayneth!

Unfortunately for Ilya's joyride, she's taken a turn down a dead end. Pouting, she slumps a bit in disappointment as her Rhyhorn skids to a stop and starts to turn around.]

Alright, Berserker, let's get back out there and start again...

[She doesn't notice the other girl, but that sudden Feraligatr is a bit more apparent. Ilya glances behind her to see the pursuing blue gator, and grins widely before turning back to her own pokemon.]

He won't catch us! Speed up, Berserker!

[And with a roar, the Rhyhorn does just that, stretching its legs and lunging forward faster than ever.]

[Ren shakes the last bits of confusion out and returns the curtsy with a polite, small bow.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss von Einzbern. I'm Ren Jinguji.

You can just call me Ilya. So, Ren, where are we? I've never seen anyplace like this before.

[And boy is she curious. Not even hiding her glances around them to try and discern what she can see, even if most of it is completely foreign to her.]

[The Rhyhorn's increased speed was only but a taunting challenge for this overgrown blue alligator-crocodile thing, something he is amused about. Using Agility, his hind legs started kicking harder at the ground to increase his speed even further. When he feels he was close enough, he shoots a water gun at the Rhyhorn in an attempt to slow him down a bit, being careful not to hit the girl.]

[Misaki, on the other hand, was trying to catch up to the commotion, regretting not bringing her Rapidash along.]

[How can such a cute girl be in an organization like his. Ren will never understand the worlds' logic.]

We're in a Pokémon world. The region we're in is called Johto and the city we're in is Goldenrod. And this place [He gestures around them.] is a base for an organization called Team Rocket.

Alright, then... what are Pokemon? [She got most of that, but that word is completely alien to her, unless-]

Oh, are those the Servant monsters we got when we arrived here?

[She seems to place a strange emphasis on the word "servant".]

[It is a rather strange way to refer them, Ren has to admit. He's not going to ask about it though - at least not yet.]

That would be right. They're our partners and we're supposed to train them so they can help us live in this world. It's also possible to get more of them.

RARRRRRRGHH!

[With an unintelligible roar of pain from being hit by a quadruple weakness from a pokemon so many levels above it, Berserker collapses like a limp rag under the water gun, lying on the ground and growling a bit in pain.]

Berserker! [With horror in her eyes, Ilya leaps off of her Pokemon's back and runs over in front of him.] Get up! Come on, Berserker, you're stronger than this!

[Berserker tries to do as his mistress commands, but he just can't rise up again after a shot like that. One-hit KO!]
