Oh very much so. You could say that Ho-oh's myth did precisely that, as part of its story was bringing into being the three beasts. I could spend so much time just reading their stories if I hadn't been so distracted by Dialga and Palkia's.
I was certainly hoping to hear about a hint of precisely that. No luck so far, but I'm still on my own journey. Perhaps I'll find something myself. There's no harm trying, as they say.
