[As the last strains of "Angels We Have Heard on High" leave Ilya's lips, she picks up a nearby mug and nurses at it a bit, kicking her legs and seemingly oblivious to the fact that she's being taped.

But not for long. She turns her eyes to the side and blinks in surprise.] Orpheus, you weren't supposed to turn that on yet! I'm still warming up!

[But with a little sigh and a soft smile of amusement, she shrugs it off.] Oh well, I guess I'm about ready. Most of you probably don't know this but I've been... complaining a little about the sort of music they're playing and some of us are singing about now. Not that I don't like Christmas or anything, I just don't like most of the songs.

But there are a few good ones out there, and so I decided that I'd sing all the ones I know that I actually like tonight. Sort of like caroling only I'm doing it over the network instead of door-to-door. As such, if you'd like to hear one, you can just respond and I'll sing one for you. You can either pick one or let me do it, I don't mind either way.

Just don't ask me to sing something like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" or "Santa Clause is Coming to Town", alright?

[Her message sent, Ilya takes another sip and starts to sing again.]

[She blinks in surprise at that question, then titters a bit.]

I didn't know I was that good. I don't know, though, most of my skill is in classical music and I don't think that's all too popular these days.

Hhn, I don't know about that. Classical music's not bad.

But would people pay to listen to it? That's the question I'd have to answer.

[She shrugs a little.]

Either way, it's really more of a hobby to me. Something I can just do because I enjoy it. But I could try to sing over the gear more often if people like it that much.

I'll be listening. Drowns out that terrible background music anyway, a lot easier on the ears, too.

Oh there certainly is that. I've gotten very good at tuning it out, but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone actually enjoying it.

... Actually, it might just be me, but when there's other music to listen to, does the background music stop?

[ There's silence as Snake thinks about it. ]

... That's a good question. If I still had my iPod, I'd be able to test that theory.

Did it stop while I was singing? I honestly didn't notice.

You were probably focused on singing. We're probably used to the damn music by now...

As used to it as I can be, yes. And it is something that tends to block out most everything else when I do it. It's just so easy to focus on.

I'm not much of a singer, but I tend to drown out the background music if I don't pay attention to it... Sometimes I remember it, though. Worst time to do that is when you're trying to sleep.

Do you have a Pokemon with Hypnosis or Sing? It's really quite safe for them to use those techniques to help with insomnia, Talos does it for me often.

All I have is a fire tortoise that makes a pretty good back compress on cold nights.

Really? Only the one? Have you gotten an egg from the Centre and haven't had it hatch yet, or has no one told you that you could get one?

Well, I guess that's fair. I'll have to remember to use the whole title from now on.
