I don't tend to make a big deal out of this sort of thing, ordinarily. But under the circumstances it seems appropriate.

[Ilya holds up Claire's Rising Badge to the camera, then shows off the other seven badges pinned to her collar. She adds the last one and makes no effort to restrain her victorious smirk.]

That's the eight badges of Johto collected. I hope the elite battles over in Kanto give a bit more of a challenge. I don't suppose anyone can give me an idea of what to expect from them. I'd like to hear any stories you might have.

Oh, but I'm feeling nostalgic. Even if you haven't fought the elite matches yet, even if you only have one or two badges, why don't you tell me about them? It seems like as good a way as any to celebrate, at least until I get my little gathering underway.

Also, Claire, if you're listening. Gyarados still isn't a dragon type.

Home videos. Classic movies. He once spent ten minutes reviewing some sort of romantic comedy for me, even though I couldn't understand even a single croak.

Well, that's... different.

[Point of fact she's pretty sure she's never heard of a Pokemon with that sort of interest before.]

I know, right? I'd heard about Pokémon artists, and Pokémon that enjoy filming their trainers, but it's the first time I've seen the two combined.

I suppose it should make things easier when you need someone to hold the gear to record things.

[She sounds dubious, though.]

At the inevitable cost of... artistic camera angles, I'm sure, but I can deal with those.

I imagine that most of them will be from low to the ground, unless he rigs up some sort of contrivance to raise the camera far higher than himself.

...Don't say that too loudly, you might give him ideas. Unless he decides to just climb up the fridge instead.

Or gets one of your other Pokemon to help him. I imagine most ghost-types would participate just for the fun of it.

Luckily for me, my only ghosts are well-behaved Golurks. I just have to worry about the Dark- and Bug-types, instead.

Interesting, my bug-type is very well behaved and only one of my dark-types is mischievous. And really I think Hydra is less mischievous and more curious. As for Cerberus, dark-type or not if you have a misbehaving dog they simply haven't been trained well enough-

[There's a crashing sound from offsreen and Ilya bites back a curse.]

Or they've forgotten how big they are and how hard it is to stop when they're running around at top speed. Cerberus you stay right where you are! I have to go now.

...That sounds just about right for all the Dark-type dogs I know, yes. Good luck with your speedster with the defective breaks.
