[Ilya's sitting at a table outside of what looks like the Ecruteak public library, a mug of something in one hand and a book in the other. Behind her, Xion can be seen looking up at something in the sky, though she's a bit out of focus.]

This city really is an amazing place to learn about the legends of the Pokemon world. I should have come here earlier. That story about the phoenix and the three beasts... I thought it was fascinating, until I stumbled upon this.

[She turns the book to the camera, showing off a picture of two certain Pokemon...]

These two are said to control Time and Space itself. That sort of power, in the hands of these two Pokemon! Imagine what they could do if they put their minds to it...

[There's an odd gleam in her eye as she mentions that. Though some people might be distracted by Xion beginning to wave her arms in the air at something offscreen...]

They weren't kidding when they called them Legendary. Does anyone know anyplace else I can find out more about them? I think I'm running out of references to them in Ecruteak... this place is much more interested in the beasts and the birds. Which are intriguing, but-

[Ilya's interrupted as a Dragonite suddenly swoops down and crashes into Xion. She jumps and whirls around, staring for a brief moment as a Garchomp joins in. Fortunately, there aren't any fighting sounds following it...]

Er, Xion, are you alright? [She glances at the gear.] Excuse me a moment everyone, I think I have to go save my traveling partner...

[The gear clicks off.]

[OOC: Responses will come fairly quickly, Xion's Pokemon are just being overly affectionate. Xion and Ilya are both available to respond to this post, though Ilya will be fielding pretty much everything that isn't "are you okay, Xion?"]

They might. Or we're dealing with a bunch of creation myths and no idea which is right. [Or the world gets remade by each set. He keeps that thought to himself.]

Anyway, makes sense about the mountain. Never thought about it, but that's pretty legit. So let's move on to the next part. What made the first successful person to scale one actually do it? What ran through their head that made them go, 'okay let's take this sucker on. Shit when we get the top let's plant a FLAG'. They had to be the craziest person of their time.

You ever notice that? It's always the people who are not quite right in the head that get these ideas.

There is that. It could be like trying to reconcile, say, Norse and Greek Mythology... though you'd be surprised how many myths can coexist if you stretch them a bit.

Oh of course it was. That's one of the reasons these sort of ancient stories tend to end so terribly. The people who convince themselves they can pull this sort of thing off are all completely, utterly insane. And then they pull it off, so they're both insane and, in some way, very impressive. That's not usually a very good combination.

Yeah that's never good. But let's get back to that tidbit you didn't elaborate on. Something about myths coexisting.

Oh that? Well, in my world pretty much all ancient myths were true... Except maybe the creation ones. Most of the ones involving ancient heroes were, anyway. I don't know if that's true of any of the other Earths here... oh, you are from Earth, aren't you?

An Earth, technically. Not a clue if mine could back up what yours did. All that stuff sort of went out of importance before I was born. Guess it makes sense for all the hero myths to be true, they were all in difference places so why the hell not?

I suppose they were mostly unimportant in my world, too, unless you were a Magus.

But it does make for some interesting comparisons. Particularly when you try to figure out which legends were happening at the same time.

And which ones aren't connected to each other, because there's no way one lead into another. Right?

Wait, magus. I think I heard that term before.

Not usually, though sometimes you do find interesting parallels.

Oh, it just means a person who uses magic. I'm sure my world isn't the only one that uses it.

No, I heard it here. I don't remember where. Probably not important.

What sort of parallels? Are we talking between the events, the weapons, the people?
